May I introduce myself? I am a professor for developmental psychology, and also a couple, relationship, and family therapist. I speak, write and teach about relational dynamics, attachment, and development in psychosocial context.

Why I find relationships so important?

​

We are wired for interaction. Close relationships are the place where the good or the bad magic happens for each and every human being. Here, we find connection, meaning, security and healing. We also experience worries, despair, conflict and stagnation.

 

In my work, I see all of this and more. I help clients understand complicated situations, what causes and upholds them. From there, I support them in moving toward a process of transformation and change.

In my counseling sessions, I have become aware of very different cultural backgrounds, relationship constellations, gender identities and sexual identities. I work with monogamous and non-monogamous relationships. The diversity of human paths continues to inspire me. My work is never boring. Each client is a new story.
